RJO Artist Relations & Management

Official Biography

Rich Overton, a Boston native, owns and operates RJO Artist Relations & Management here in New York City, where he manages Out Popstar Ari Gold. He also markets and develops many artists including Dance star Brian Kent and Indie Rocker Liz Clark.

Each year Rich works directly with many GLBT organizations. Through RJO, he works closely with The Wedding Party for Marriage Equality and The Ali Forney Center, which house homeless GLBT youth. Rich has served on the Outmusic Committee and this year is in charge of the Media Relations of The Outmusic Awards which will be hosted by Alix Olson and Ari Gold and honoring Dance Music Legend Junior Vasquez.

Rich recently produced the upcoming “I’m Not Crazy” Video by Brian Kent as well as co-producing and appearing in Ari Gold’s “Love Will Take Over” video, which debuted at #1 on MTV’s LOGO Channel.

Almost 10 years ago, Rich began his career as the very first male host of Women In Music on WERS Boston, where he built the show’s popularity by welcoming such artists as Cyndi Lauper, Donna DeLory, Melissa Ferrick, Billie Myers and Patty Larkin. Around this time, Rich covered many events including the final GLAMAs (Gay & Lesbian American Music Awards) interviewing many personalities including Danny Pintauro of Who’s The Boss and recording artist Jill Sobule.

This led to opportunities working for Full House Promotions in Massachusetts, Dido at Nettwerk Management in Los Angeles and Virgin Records in Beverly Hills. Moving back East, Rich ran the publicity & booking departments for MPress Records and Indie Songstress Rachael Sage while managing Bisexual activist/Songwriter Skott Freedman, before starting RJO out of his own office here in NYC.

Rich is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston with a degree in Audio & Radio / Performance & Public Relations.
